Hi Debbie – the only thing I can think of is since the berries are smaller and there’s more “liquid” in them, it would cause them to bake longer. The peaches are fairly large slices so there isn’t as much liquid (that thick compote substance) as there would be with berries. Otherwise, I’m SO glad you and your family loved them! Apple and cinnamon sounds amazing!

My question is only baking for 30 min just is not enough the cake just is not done. With the apple it took 45 mins and the blueberry took 1 hr. Is the time diff from the type of berry im using? I cant find the peach so was trying something diff. my family just loves this cake thanks for putting it out there.

I’m not sure how it’d work with defrosted peaches since the peach pie filling has the compote mixture in addition to the peaches. The compote helps provide moisture to the cake batter since the only other moisture is the eggs. You could prepare the cake mix according to the package directions and add defrosted peaches to the batter, though!
