These photos looked so good but were really buttery and wayyyy too sweet. We cut the sugar back slightly and felt the flavors were overpoweringly sweet to the point where we couldn’t taste the peanut butter!! No balance of flavor at all. Disappointing. Will try a different peanut butter cookie recipe on another website next time.

In reply to Beth. Hi Beth, this recipe relies on the mix-ins for structure. I would recommend another peanut butter cookie recipe that isn't so large and requires mix-ins.

I don’t have a kitchen scale. Is there an approximate size that I could use to be sure my cookies come out just as good? 1/4 cup of dough per cookie, for example?

Do you think it would work if I substituted butterfinger bits (in the baking aisle) for the reese’s pieces? That is what they had at my grocery store, and I’m wondering if that would still give the batter something to grip onto as well as the reese’s pieces. I did find the peanutbutter chips, so I will still have those to add in as well. I’m really looking forward to trying these!
