My daughter&#039;s fiance requested this for his birthday, and I&#039;m wondering how far in advance can I make the cake and leave it in the fridge with the strawberries liquid in it before frosting and topping? It&#039;s going to be a very busy weekend of celebrating both of their birthdays, so I&#039;m trying to do as much in advance as I can.]]></description>

I subbed the 1 cup cold water and 1 cup of boiling water for 1 pint of frozen sliced strawberries in syrup.  I heated the frozen strawberries in a saucer pan, added the gelatin, and heated on low medium until the jello dissolved.]]></description>
