Hiii! I can’t believe April is nearly over!
I know I say this literally every month but it’s true. Time really does fly when you’re an adult. Next thing you know I’ll be yapping about Christmas again.
This month was kind of low-key but also very busy, too. In late March, I took a 7-day Caribbean cruise with Princess Cruises and it was magical. I can’t believe it’s been a month since the trip because I feel like I was in Caribbean waters just a week ago! The photo above is from an outdoor market I found in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. I picked up a lot of those candies and cookies and some AMAZING vanilla extract for like $8. Pro tip: ALWAYS buy vanilla extract from the Caribbean! I ended up coming home with about 10 bottles (!!!) but only paid a total for all of about $30. You can’t get a single bottle here at Costco for less than $25!
Plus, Caribbean vanilla extract is seriously dreamy. It has this fruity, floral aroma and is just mind-blowingly good.
After I got back, I went straight to working on the blog to bring you tons of yummy springtime recipes and prepare for Easter! Hoping you guys all had a great holiday, or spring break if you were lucky enough to still get one! Our Easter was very low-key and I spent most of the day reading in the beautiful weather! Sacramento was really treating us with gorgeous, mild, slightly breezy warm weather… but right now as I type this, it’s already pushing 85 degrees F. I don’t want it to get hot already!
Mannie’s birthday was yesterday and my boy turned 12 (to the best of my knowledge!). He was super happy when I made homemade dog cookies and he got plenty spoiled all day long 🙂 I just love my boys! I also snapped these newer pics of them. I mean, how adorable!
Now let’s move on to links I’m loving! As always, feel free to leave products/recipes or things you’re loving in the comments!
I need to start cooking more at home, and this is right up my alley!
It’s already heating up – time for sorbet!
Get in my mouth!!
My pal Rebecca remade one of the cocktails we had onboard the ship, and it is to DIE for!
Can’t wait to use up leftover and clearance Easter candy for these.
Courtney was also on the cruise and she made mofongo! It’s PR’s national dish and it’s amaaaaazing.
Adoring these earrings I snagged from Bando! Perfect for spring!
Also picked up these insaaaaane slides! (And yay, they’re on sale!). Love that they’re combining three hot fashion trends in one.
I’m super in love with this adorable botanical-print jumpsuit I picked up. Super comfy, easy to get in and out of and soo cute!
I’ve received so many compliments on this dress since I got it!
These are my new go-to shoes! I wore them all throughout Turks & Caicos and they were a dream! (And score- clearance!)
I am livvvvving in this skirt all summer long! Cute and not too short, too. I’ll pair it with a vintage graphic tee and sandals!
I know I’m just a dog mom, but I totally need this for Mother’s Day.
In the book department, I’ve been slamming books back like no other! Here are some faves…
THIS book was FANTASTIC. Gruesome, gory and graphic but excellently written. I highly recommend!
I also adored this book written by one of the most famous medical examiners in the world. So interesting and kept me hooked!
Just received this ADORABLE cookbook written by my friend Christi from Love From The Oven! It is so sweet and fun and if you have little kids, it’s a must have!
Reading this creepy book now! Hoping it’s as good and gory as the others.
I’ve heard amazing reviews about this book, so it’s my next purchase!
…As well as this critically-acclaimed novel.
And as I was running through the airport coming home from my trip, I picked this memoir up. It had me hooked from the cover!
I mentioned that I picked up this new SLR camera last month for my trip and I have to say, I absolutely adore it! Not only was it lightweight and compact, but the photos it took were stunning! A great, high-quality SLR if you need one!
And for my monthly “splurge” (if I had the money) would be these killer shoes! I mean, aren’t they incredible?! I only wish I had enough money to spend on those without feeling like I was majorly sacrificing. A girl can dream 🙂
That’s it for this month! Hit me up with links, products or recipes you’re loving! See ya next month!
