Hi Liz! You rock 🙂 So yes, you may absolutely use pumpkin puree, HOWEVER, I would sweeten it with about 1/2 cup – 3/4 cup sugar, another Tablespoonful of maple syrup and some more spices to give it some flavor so it isn’t so bland. I’d also add 1 beaten egg to help everything stay thick and fabulous. Hope this helps!

Just checked in on your site for the latest recipe and it’s another winner- can’t wait to try it! For the record… your site is amazing! I happily stumbled upon it while searching a recipe several years ago and man oh man am I so glad I did! I’ve made countless recipes you’ve posted and have always gotten rave reviews. Anyone who is immature enough to comment “icky” or “gross” to any recipe you freely share with the world must not have functioning taste buds in my opinion! Thank you for your creativity, talent, and generosity- those of us with working taste buds are appreciative!

Hello my dear! First off, I’m so sorry you have to deal with GROWN ADULTS sharing their dessert hatred on your posts! At least daily I come across something like that and just ask WHY?? But in your case, I know why – it’s cuz they’re HANGRY and need a GD cookie!
Second, I want to make these but only have plain pumpkin purée! Can it be done, just prepared as regular pie filing??
