Normally, Fourth of July isn’t my favorite holiday. We have dogs that dislike fireworks, so it’s always a big production trying to calm them down.
But, I am a fan of throwing parties for any and all holidays, so this party was an exception to my normal rule. Plus, who doesn’t love a little red, white and blue?
Fourth of July parties just scream for something easy and that everyone will love: backyard BBQ, pool party, easy, no-bake snacks.. you know the drill. Which is why I am throwing a fun patriotic-themed bash with Twizzlers!
You may not know this about me, but red licorice is my favorite candy and I adore Twizzlers Pull-n-Peel Cherry Twists. They’re my favorite! Anytime I’m seeing a movie, I must have licorice on me at all times. It’s a requirement and a law in the State of Hayley.
(Also a law? Not driving below the speed limit, but that’s another law for another post).
Twizzlers are the inspiration for this red, white & blue-themed party and I couldn’t think of a better ingredient to use. Everyone loves them, they’re chewy, sweet and fun to eat, and they make for great, no-bake party food as I’ll show you.
First up: these cookies. Aren’t they adorable? Simply purchase or bake sugar cookies, frost them with a little icing, and decorate with Twizzlers Pull N Peel Cherry Twists and star-shaped sprinkles. I made a great stars and stripes theme here, but there’s no rhyme or reason to the decorating. This is such a fun task to do with kids, too, so get the little ones engaged in decorating cookies! It isn’t just for Christmas anymore.
Next up, these Dipped Twists. I used regular Strawberry Twizzlers Twists, dipped them in melted, smooth white chocolate bark, and topped with sprinkles. SO SIMPLE. These really could not be any easier, and they look like you spent all day sprinkling and dipping. Plus, who doesn’t love strawberry and white chocolate? I don’t know of a soul.
Last up, these Blue Raspberry Slushies with a Twizzlers straw. Twizzlers straws are the way of the future! Simply snip off both ends of a Twizzler Twist and stick it in any beverage for a candy straw! So fun, and so easy. This one tastes especially delicious with these Blue Raspberry Slushies, which are a cinch to make and are a great chilly treat for hot summer days. Everyone will love these – they remind me of slurpees!
Icy, sweet, tart, and totally amazing. My family was obsessed with these slushies!
*adapted from Cincy Shopper’s recipe
- 2 cups cold club soda
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 pkt. blue raspberry drink mix
- 2-3 cups ice
- 2-3 drops blue food coloring
- 4 Twizzlers Strawberry Twists, ends cut off
- In a large blender, blend together the club soda, sugar, drink mix, ice and blue food coloring on HIGH speed for about 30 seconds or until blended. Pop the mixture in the freezer for 15 minutes, then pour among four glasses.
- Garnish with a Twizzlers straw, for decoration and sipping. Serve immediately.
I found all my Twizzlers products at Walmart, where they had this convenient display in the middle of the store. So perfect, right?
And let’s talk about the tablescape. The theme here is super patriotic – red, white and blue all around, and perfect for Fourth of July! I decorated the table with miniature American flags and patriotic tinsel which I also found at Walmart in the party supply section. In keeping with the red, white and blue theme, I selected red napkins and white party cups, and displayed the dipped twists in little navy blue pails. So cute! Two stacked cake stands adds needed height and interest to this sparkly, Americana tablescape.
And of course – more Twizzlers! Twizzlers Bites to be precise. Of course we have to have a bowl of them 🙂 Perfect for snacking!
Well, that’s my party! I hope you enjoyed all the recipes and table ideas! Be sure to follow Twizzler’s hashtag #TwizzlersSummer for more party and recipe ideas featuring Twizzlers!
Have a super sweet day!
xo, Hayley
