I have made it twice with a couple changes to incorporate some maple whiskey. The first time, I substituted maple whiskey and agave syrup for the maple syrup and also soaked the cooled cake with more maple whiskey and agave syrup. I baked up 4 mini-bundts with the whiskey version and gave some away as a Christmas gift. The second time, I added some blueberries to the cake batter after folding in the crumbled bacon in addition to the maple whiskey modifications. The blueberry version baked up nicely in two loaf pans.
