You know when you go to concerts or attractions or events and there’s always that person filming every little detail? Except they’re filming it with the microscopic, low-grade camera on their phone AND the place is extremely loud and dark? Yeah — Filmers of Dark and Loud Events, please stop. I beg of you.
Because it isn’t really the fact that you’re completely useless standing in the way while you attempt to film everything happening on your miniature screen. Aaand it isn’t really the fact that I personally think you should be enjoying the actual event rather than filming it. It’s actually because inevitably, you or someone like you will come into contact with me at a later date and insist I watch said video. And I can think of a handful of other things I’d rather be doing (toilet paper shopping, getting a papercut, paying a toll tax) than watching your grainy, low-res video of some indistinguishable concert.
You went to go see Britney Spears? Well congratulations, but you managed to take a probably pretty good concert and turn it into a 6 minute video of a tiny pixelated being making incoherent animal noises with a bunch of scratchy screaming in the background. Gee, if I knew I could experience the entire concert from your crappy camera phone, why spend the money on actual tickets?! I may as well stand awkwardly over your phone watching the vague sounds of instruments and the incomprehensible shapes of the band wiggle around as your phone struggled to capture anything meaningful of the event itself.
So I apologize if I’m being curt, but really — I don’t want to see your grainy videos of the luau you saw on Waikiki or the terrible footage of Coachella. I have papercuts to get and toilet paper shopping to tend to.
Something I also must tend to? Eating as much cinnamon rolls as possible. Because #Yolo. Actually, because have you eaten a cinnamon roll? They’re amazing, and stopping at one is nearly impossible. Especially if they’re the gooey, chewy goodness of Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls! You know you can’t resist the sweet aroma of cinnamon and cream cheese icing when you walk past their store in the mall… even if they know you on a first-name basis… and even if you take all your first dates there… whatever. They’re simply irresistible!
So when I found these Cinnabon Cinnapoppers at the store, I knew I had to make something intoxicatingly delicious with them. And what better way to create something scrumptious than to bake all those gooey, chewy cinnamon rolls into one fantastic, outrageous pie? NO BETTER WAY, THAT’S WHAT.
Do yourself a service and a service to humanity and make this pie. Just please, don’t film yourself making it at midnight on a Thursday. No one cares about the process, they just want the pieeeeeeeeee!
- 1 premade graham cracker pie shell
- 1 & 1.5 pkgs Cinnabon Cinnapopper Mini Cinnamon Rolls (30 miniature rolls total)
- 1 stick butter, melted
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Cream Cheese Icing (only if you want to smother it like I did -- otherwise, the miniature frosting they provide in the package should suffice)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place the pie pan on a rimmed baking sheet to catch any drippings while baking; set aside.
- Open up the packages of the Cinnapoppers and begin layering them inside of the pie crust. I kept most of mine whole, but trimmed a few to fit in smaller cracks as needed. All 30 should fit in the pie crust either whole or trimmed.
- Meanwhile in a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour and cinnamon with a whisk until combined. Evenly pour the butter mixture on top and throughout the Cinnapopper Pie, coating the rolls as best as you can.
- Bake the pie for approx. 15-20 minutes, or until the pie appears mostly set and is not super jiggly in the middle. If it remains jiggly, pop it in the oven for another 5 minutes -- take care not to over bake the pie as it will set up while it cools.
- Allow the pie to cool for about 10 minutes before generously drizzling the top of the pie with the cream cheese icing. As I said in the note, you may use the icing provided in the Cinnapopper packages, or you may additionally use your favorite prepared cream cheese icing, be it from a can or homemade as an additional, heavier drizzle. Cut into wedges and serve warm! Indulge a little more by topping each warm slice with vanilla ice cream.

I really couldn’t get enough of this extremely addictive cinnamon roll pie! It tastes identical to a giant cinnamon roll — thanks to all those little Cinnapoppers baked inside — but the overall flavor and texture of the pie reminds me of that highly coveted, hard-to-replicate ooey gooey center of the cinnamon roll. The part that’s slightly underdone, saturated with butter and sugar and that’s often saved as the best for last? Every slice of this pie tastes exactly like that crown jewel — the sweet aroma of vanilla swirled with the warmth and spice of the cinnamon, the crunch of the golden crust with the chewy, flaky layers of the dough. You will not be able to resist this pie’s siren song, so don’t even try 🙂
Have a fantastical day!!

My pet peeve is pretty much just everything about loud, crowded, noisy, obnoxious concert-y stuff period. I’m too old for that business.
This pie? I am not too old for this pie.

Have you ever listened to this song? I rarely take pictures or videos of anything I do — Just food and cats, the essentials. You and this song sum up my thoughts on people taking videos/pictures of evverrrything pretty well.

Did you know my one true weakness is Cinnabon? I have many weaknesses, but I will stop and eat a Cinnabon every single time I have the opportunity, which is normally at an airport. And it’s caused me to almost miss a flight on at least 2 occasions. Turning cinnabons into pies = GENIUS, and I can eat them at home in my pajamas instead 😀

I do make yummy cinnamon bun mini monkey breads in by cutting up rolls of pillsbury biscuits , shaking them in sugar/cinnamon mixture, melting butter and brown sugar in bottom of muffin tin for a gooey coating and then bake ,,its as close as i am going to get to this yummy pie- maybe I will try improvising and making the pie with biscuit pieces…
