Hey Laura! Woah, thanks for bringing that to my attention! I guess I meant the term ‘cookie’ VERY loosely. There is no physical cookie inside; the “cookie” is that caramel Rice Krispy base 🙂

After all the description is “A soft, chewy cookie topped with caramel and crisp rice then covered in a layer of fudge”. These do look good, and I would definitely make them, but I don’t know that they can be star crunch without the base of the treat.

Yes the midwest did have it. I grew up in Iowa & Nebraska, and LOVED star crunch as a child *and still as an adult*
