Today is my little brother, Alex’s, birthday! Although he isn’t so little anymore (he’s a towering 6’3″ and is 19, but I digress), he’s still my younger brother and he’s my favorite brother 🙂
I don’t remember much when he was born (I was about to turn 3), but from home movies, it is clear I loved him even if I showed it in a torturous way (e.g, standing in my bedroom doorway at the end of the hallway, excitedly calling his name and egging him to crawl down the hall in his leg braces, only to slam the door in his face when he reached my bedroom… yeah, not one of my nicer moments; and bombarding his baby videos with me holding up glamour shot pictures of me to show the camera and my parents futile attempts to push the camera past the picture of me and focus on their newborn baby with me wailing in the background “but look at my picture!!!”) #spoiledbratmuch ?
But he definitely got back at me as he grew older, driving me absolutely batty with his newfound word, “bap” which sent me into a downward spiral of six-year old rage whenever he pointed and said that god-awful three-letter word. (Many infuriated tears were shed over the word “bap.”)
And even though I was a terribly bossy older sister (playing Legos ‘my’ way, watching ‘my’ TV shows.. the list, sadly, goes on into brattier territory), he still loved me unconditionally in a way only brothers can love their psychotic, neurotic, meanie older sisters. And I love him dearly for putting up with my shenanigans (which sadly, continue to this day).
In honor of my little brother who LOVES chocolate, I thought I’d feature a fun chocolate roundup today. I find it funny that women are notorious for being “chocoholics” yet every man I’ve met is a chocolate FREAK. Double-edged sword, mm? Anyway, here’s some sinfully delicious chocolate recipes for guys and girls and my sweet, bapping brother.
Happy Birthday, Alex!
Now go grab a bib. And Happy Birthday, Alex!!
