These sinfully delicious cinnamon roll whoopie pies are sliced in half and stuffed with a warm maple bacon frosting. You'll love these breakfast desserts!
Ingredients
  • 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls (8 count)
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2 tsp maple extract
  • 2 tsp milk
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • About ½ - ⅔ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven according to package directions. Place the cinnamon rolls in a greased 8" or 9" round cake pan, spacing them evenly apart.
  2. Bake the rolls according to package directions, or until golden. Allow to cool almost completely. Resist the urge to frost them with the provided frosting right away -- leave 'em naked until I say so!
  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together the butter, maple extract and milk until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, about a cup at a time, until mixture is light and fluffy. Stir in the cooked and crumbled bacon to combine.
  4. Slice each cinnamon roll in half crosswise, like a bun. Place the frosting into a piping bag attached with a large round tip and pipe the frosting generously onto the bottom half of the cinnamon roll. Top off the frosted roll with the remaining half.
  5. Drizzle the whoopie pies with the provided canned frosting (heat it slightly to thin it out, if needed). Best served immediately.
