Hi Katie! I didn’t know that about coyotes — I suppose that makes sense, being a pack animal/predator and all! Thanks for the heads-up! Even though coyotes are really common around my neighborhood I’ve only ever seen one maybe twice. And while I talk a big game about kidnapping me some raccoon friends, I know realistically I’d probably get my eyes ripped out in the process, haha. Thanks for the info, and Happy Valentine’s Day!! 🙂

I am so making these for vday! On a side note, I’m an ER staff member and can tell you yes raccoons are very dangerous. I’ve had people over the years come in from a raccoon attack and they can be very bad injuries. Very deep lacerations and chunks of skin missing from bite wounds, deep scratches, lost fingers and toes. If they are hungry they will eat your small pets in the yard and even you no matter how “tough” of a fighter you think you are.

Secondly, coyotes are dangerous. They send one out to lure it’s prey to where the pack is hiding in wait for their victim. Many people chase it or follow it for reasons their own only to find themselves surrounded. I have been one of those people, fortunately I got away. So please, be very careful around a coyote. They may look cute and innocent, but they will not hesitate to play games so their pack can eat you.

First of all, I cracked up at your douchebag comment! Hilarious! I’m a total animal lover, so I’m with you on the animal prejudice thing. Last year I slammed on my brakes in the dark of early morning b/c I saw a mom raccoon and three little baby raccoons crossing the street in front of me. They were adorable!!!

I’ve only been reading your blog for a few months, but I have to tell you that I just love it! I love your random thoughts, and your recipes are so freaking creative! There are so many I can’t wait to make!
