The Friday Roundup

Happy Friday, everyone!!

Hopefully your week has treated you well. I know for me personally, it has. I worked two days this week, so it was fun relaxing and doing whatever I wanted. When I get my paycheck next Tuesday… it won’t be so fun.

But I never look to the pessimistic side of things.

…Until I get my paycheck and see how small it is and have a mild panic attack, being sweating profusely and will of course ruin my special lucky blouse with my perspiration, and then I’ll suddenly be like, homeless, because that’s what happens when you soil your lucky blouse, and then I’ll have to sell all my awesome Betsey clothes for pennies and start spray-painting myself gold and dancing on the side of the road like a tranquilized, metallic elephant and people will point and laugh and my dignity will be tarnished and I will be so sad and live in a small cave inside of a box and that’s all because I only worked two days that one week.

It’s hard to ignore your possible life situations, people.

Anyway, in the meantime, I baked up a ton of awesome stuff this week that deserves recognition before I become known for my breakdancing skills in the downtown ditches. Obviously.

I talked about how you can prevent your kids from doing drugs by scaring them.

I proved I wasn’t too arrogant to redo a favorite recipe in a fun blog-hop with other awesome, talented bloggers.

I introduced you to my new lucrative career path.

I talked about my magical dreams of seeing mystical creatures.

Oh! And I baked a cupcake inside of a cupcake. Now that’s magic.

Yesterday, my little sister graduated middle school! I remember my middle school didn’t give out awards or have ceremonies or anything… I think the “reward” was knowing you didn’t have school for the duration of the summer and you were entering–gasp–high school. But hers threw a very nice one where she was very prominent with her bright hair and cute little dress.

Yay! Except… now I have a little sister in high school. I seriously feel like I am aging immensely… what. the. hell.

So to combat my impending aging, I will spend my weekend baking to my little heart’s content and bring you awesome treats next week. You’re welcome :)

What are your weekend plans?! Tell me!!

Oh, and I don’t know if any other bloggers do this, but I can personally attest to my own creepiness/interest/arrogance(?) and admit that I will oftentimes check out who has pinned things from The Domestic Rebel and what they say about those pictures/recipes. Some of the comments people leave are so sweet, touching, inspiring and awesome and I am just so thankful that I have such loyal and kickass readers, and that you guys take the time to repin my pictures, make my recipes, comment on my blog, and follow me on Pinterest and Facebook and subscribe to my blog.

Forreals. No one knows how much I appreciate the ability to stalk my pinned pictures and see all the sweet things y’all say. So thank you!!

I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend! Have fun in the sun!

xo, Hayley

Oyyyyy. Those cookie dough cup cakes made me shed a tear of hunger!

Also, there’s some serious bullshit going on in Canada…it’s almost impossible to find the animal cookies with frosting outside of Fro-Yo shops!

Aw, congrats to your sis. And I’d throw money in your guitar case if you danced golden on the side of the road.

I am so glad I found your blog! You are hilarious! I totally relate to the way you think . . . I am always thinking of the worst case senario (like being skinned by the camo man in the greeting card isle and having to sell all my clothes b/c I only worked 2 days that week)!! Haha! I seriously can relate! I think I’m going to love your blog! I found it through pinterest, by the way!
