Welcome to the Hunger Games!
And by ‘Hunger Games’, I mean the game where you are tortured by me showing you pictures of everything I’ve made this week!
No fighting to the death necessary; your drool and validation is all I seek.
BTW, I am so much of a Hunger Games freak now. It’s kind of ridiculous how much I think about it and how I am personally percolating ideas about District 13 in my head and stuff ALL DAY LONG.
And don’t you dare ruin the surprises for me! I am only in the late-middle of Book 2. Leave me alone and don’t spoil it!! There is a District 13, right?! Katniss and Peeta do live together forever happily, right?!
GAH THE AGONY OF WAITING!!
And by ‘waiting’, I mean reading. I’m a quick reader, but things like life get in the way of tearing through all three books in one afternoon. Like urinating. Ugh, it’s so annoying having to pee; it wastes so much time! And work and school. You people ordering sandwiches are despicable. Don’t you know that districts everywhere are STARVING?! And now you’re getting all custom-ordery on me?! NO YOU CAN’T HAVE THREE KINDS OF CHEESE–ONLY GOAT CHEESE! GOAT. CHEESE!
Anyway, I’m seeing the movie with Jessie this weekend and by the time you’re reading this, I may be on my way to having finished the second book. I can’t wait! Quarter Quell here I come!!
Oh and btw, I’m totes Team Peeta. Don’t even try to push that Gale stuff on me. Whaaaateverrrrrrr.
So now time for the hungry part.
I made Biscoff Toffee Cookies. They have cookie butter in them.
I made this bundt cake that was *ALMOST* too pretty to eat. And talked about my current obsession(s). Hunger Games was not mentioned, but rest assured, I am exponentially obsessed.
I talked about an obvious character straight out of the Hunger Games who straight-up approached me and randomly asked me for my food. Bitch, please! Back off my donuts.
I told you about my cool mom, who celebrated her birthday on Wednesday!
And I made some drinky-drinks for us to get druuuuunk on this weekend. And by “us” I mean me. And by “this weekend” I meant on Thursday night. By myself. After work. It was only a small bottle of vodka, okay?! Enough for one or three bubbletinis.
Mother’s Day is this Sunday–are you ready? Personally, I am still burnt out from Cinco de Mayo. We had quite the feast and leftovers for daaaayyyys, and I know this MD Brunch will be no exception. I’m planning on cooking up some banana bread french toast, hash browns, bacon & sausage, and perhaps some strawberry mimosas. No, not perhaps. Definitely having strawberry mimosas.
In case you still need dessert ideas, here’s my last week’s Friday Roundup in which I showcased some good lookin’ mama’s day treats. They’re guaranteed by my mom so you know they’re good.
I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing weekend and a great Mother’s Day! Say hello and give all your mama’s a big hug 🙂
