WINNER ANNOUNCED! Giveaway now closed.
SUPERTHANKS to everyone of you who entered my giveaway and made it a wonderful opportunity for me! I loved hearing about all your favorite cakes and loved meeting all of you! I wish I could give you all a super sprinkly cupcake.
I have some awesomely exciting news for you all!
The Domestic Rebel turns 1 this month!
It is soo insane to me that one year ago I created this blog simply because I loved baking and wanted to show off my creations. I had no previous baking experience, no previous blogging experience (well, none worth noting) and hardly anyone was aware of me, my talents, or this blog (even months after I made it).
I remember showing Jessie my (new at the time) boyfriend my new blog and excitedly proclaiming I had 30 hits between two months. And when that number would slllloooooooowwwlly creep to 35 by the next month, I was STOKED!
At first, I didn’t really think it’d ever truly expand beyond my immediate friends & family. Wow, was I wrong. Never underestimate the power of word of mouth, search engines and awesome networking. Within months, I went from a measly 37 views every three months to thousands of views a month–sometimes even a week.
I’ve met people from all around the world who’ve introduced themselves and have commented here & there; I’ve met awesome new friends and fans; and I’ve learned SO MUCH. It’s incredible how fascinating baking STILL is to me despite cooking something almost every day for a year. You’d think I’d be desperate to throw in the dishtowel, but nope–I’m only getting started!
The fact that I have such an amazing group of supporters whom I personally know, don’t know at all or only recently just met means more than you’ll ever know. Having people look forward to my daily posts means the world to me. And knowing people actually make my recipes and think I’m funny, well–that’s just priceless.
Because it’s my birthday month (yay!) and because The Domestic Rebel is turning one (bigger yay!) I wanted to reward one of my fans with some goodies–a (very small) token of my appreciation for your loyalty and awesomeness.
While I’d love to shower all of you with fantastic goodies, and while I’d DREAM to give away something super badass like a Kitchenaid mixer, I can’t. Even after I was laid off this month, I still wanted to give someone a treat because I’m so blessed and so excited. And despite my unemployment, I’m hell-bent on making giveaways more frequent ’round here–just for you.
Blah blah, I know I sound like a proud mother, ’cause I am. I’ll shut up now so you can find out what you’re winning.
I put together a smallish collection of some of my fave things and cute stuff I love and I hope you’ll enjoy, too.
First up: a super-cute (& convenient!) magnetic measuring set from Crate & Barrel. It shows all the measurement equivalents, like 1 cup = 48 tsp (who knew?) for those moments where you have NO idea what’s going on. Also, a yummy birthday cake flavored lip-balm because everything’s better when it tastes like cake, ya hear?
A two-pack of silicone spatulas because everyone needs a rubber spatula (and two are better than one) and some adorable Valentine’s-y heart cupcake baking cups.
Remember those bites from the Funfetti Fudge post? Well, you’ll get your own box of Cupcake Bites, too! And if you may have noticed, in all my pictures I’m donning my favorite cupcake charm necklace. While I can’t find the original necklace in stores anymore, I wanted to give you a cute cupcake charm necklace of your own. I wear mine every day and never remove it!
Isn’t it cute? I love the heart details.
It’s no shock I LOVE SPRINKLES and I wanted to give you some, too. Rainbow sprinkles are totally versatile (cupcakes, cakes, cookies, ice cream, to name a few) but these jewel sprinkles are super pretty for birthday parties, weddings.. even Valentine’s Day.
Last but not least, one of my super-favorite cookbooks ever!, 101 More Things To Do With a Cake Mix by Stephanie Ashcraft. There are SOO many cool recipes in there featuring the star ingredient: cake mix. Recipes like: Heavenly White Brownies, Oatmeal Caramel Apple Bars, Sweet Banana Bread, Rocky Road Pizza, Vanilla Spice Cake, Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies and more! Love. It.
So to recap, you’ll be getting:
1 (one) magnetic measuring set from Crate & Barrel
1 (one) birthday cake flavored lip balm
1 (one) pack of two rubber spatulas (hand wash only–just saying)
1 (one) pack of 50 cupcake wrappers
1 (one) box of Cupcake Bites candies
1 (one) cupcake charm necklace
2 (two) jars sprinkles–1 of rainbow; 1 of jewel-tone AND
1 (one) cake mix cookbook
